Lesson plan
This site will talk about my idea of creating the Castle Rock Atelier (an atelier is an artist's workspace) so other artists can enjoy the same opportunity I have had to be a producing artist. This is a process that began almost ten years ago while I was working on my Masters Degree when I was asked the question, "Do you want to buy some foundry equipment?" This is a work in progress. Much like my life.

What is my essential question? That is what I'm thinking about. What is the obligation of an artist to create the unique work that only he/she can produce? What is the obligation of society to give that artist the opportunity to create that work? |
It seems that a blog will be the way that I will want to go to put this question out to the general public. Then I will need to find a way to open this up to my students. |

I thought that I had a plan for what I wanted to do but have come to realize the idea was far to complex for the meager skills I now possess.
7/1/09 I'm a bit hesitant to discuss what I have learned because I still feel that I need to learn a lot more. In addition the computer is a 2D tool, I'm a sculptor. That being said it's great to be learning about this "new" tool. I also know know and realize, much to my wife's joy that we need a new computer. Windows '95 just isn't making it any more.
With respect to the web sites that I have come to some knowledge. I feel like an explorer that has just gone through a harrowing experience. The sun will come out tomorrow!
